I can remember the look on my mother’s face as she scanned the shelves eagerly searching for the latest shoe style in a size 11.  Sucking her teeth, she would look down at me and say in a desperate low tone whisper that I was the cause of her foot being a size 11. She would say “Pumpkin”, which is what my Mums called me. “If it wasn’t for you, I would still be in a size 10”. Her reasoning was contributed to the fact that she had given birth to 10 children, and I being the 11th child caused her foot to grow another inch.

It wasn’t until I got married and had two children of my own that I realized the origin of Mums faulty thinking. You see it was really difficult to find fashionable shoes for a woman with size 11 feet in the mid 70’s. That’s why I am so thankful to DesignerShoes.com because for years I felt guilty that my mums had big feet because of me.  Wearing a size 11 shoe now I know how frustrating it must have been for my mother and other women with a larger than normal foot back then.   And so I am so thankful that I have a shoe source that I can rely on to keep me in fashion.
